John C. Gillespie, is re-appointed to State Chairman for the
International Municipal Lawyers Association Marlton, N.J., December 16, 2003, John C. Gillespie, a Shareholder with Parker, McCay & Criscuolo, has been re-appointed to State Chairman of the International Municipal Lawyers Association (IMLA).
The IMLA is a non-for-profit Association of Attorneys who represent local governments within the country. The Association assists its members by effectively providing educational materials, publications and research development for local government law.
Mr. Gillespie's responsibilities as State Chairman include identifying, monitoring and reporting pending State Appellate and Supreme Court Cases. He will act as an advisory to the Board of IMLA for the State of New Jersey on matters of policy, programs and membership. He is also in charge of recruiting new IMLA members and maintaining membership.
Mr. Gillespie has served two terms as a trustee of the Burlington County Bar Association and is a Board member of the New Jersey Institute of Municipal Attorneys. He currently serves as Associate Counsel to the New Jersey State League of Municipalities. He has lectured to Joint Insurance Fund organizations, police associations and on behalf of the New Jersey League of Municipalities on such topics as federal civil rights actions, the New Jersey Tort Claims Act and high speed police chases. He is a past recipient of the prestigious Robert W. Criscuolo Award, presented annually by the Burlington County Bar Association to its "Outstanding Young Lawyer".
