Parker McCay Shareholder Elizabeth M. Garcia Named to Two Burlington County Bar Association Offices
Mount Laurel, N.J. - Parker McCay Shareholder Elizabeth M. Garcia has been appointed president of the Burlington County Bar Foundation and the secretary of the Burlington County Bar Association. She will take office at the association's annual Installation Dinner on June 8, 2012.

The Burlington County Bar Foundation is the charitable arm of the Burlington County Bar Association. As president, Garcia will oversee the Bar Foundation's charity programs that take place throughout the year. As Bar Association secretary, Garcia will assist in advancing the association's mission to provide its members with the tools necessary to enhance their ability to practice law ethically and effectively, improve the administration of justice, and serve the public.

A member of the Burlington County Bar Association for 10 years, Garcia is formerly a Bar Association trustee and Bar Foundation vice president.

In addition to the Bar Foundation and Bar Association appointments, Garcia was also appointed as a board member of the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce in May.

Garcia focuses her practice in the areas of civil rights and government liability, labor and employment, and municipal and governmental relations. She counsels public and private sector employers with regard to a wide variety of employment issues arising under federal and state anti-discrimination laws, "whistleblower" laws, family and medical leave statutes, and the Fair Labor Standards Act. In addition, Garcia represents municipal clients before the Public Employment Relations Commission (PERC) and the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) in issues including unfair labor practices, mediations and arbitration. She is also well versed on civil service and pension laws.
