John C. Gillespie to Receive International Municipal Lawyers Association Amicus Service Award Marlton, NJ, April 1, 2008 - Parker McCay shareholder John C. Gillespie will be honored among the first-ever recipients of the International Municipal Lawyers Association (IMLA) Amicus Service Award on April 14, 2008 at the IMLA Mid-Year Conference in Washington, D.C. The Amicus Service Award is a new distinction that recognizes lawyers who have been actively involved in legal advocacy on behalf of local governments and the IMLA, and who have done exemplary work to protect and advance local government interests. Mr. Gillespie was recently elected as Third Circuit Regional Vice President of the IMLA for the 2008 term. He previously served as New Jersey state chair for ten years. The IMLA is a non-profit organization that serves as an advocate and resource for local government attorneys throughout the country. Mr. Gillespie is co-chair of Parker McCay's Administrative, State and Local Government Department, and is experienced in all areas of municipal law, including governmental defense litigation, land use and development. He is a trustee of the New Jersey Institute of Municipal Attorneys and serves as associate counsel to the New Jersey State League of Municipalities. He is a past recipient of the prestigious Robert W. Criscuolo Award, presented annually by the Burlington County Bar Association to a young attorney committed to the legal profession and the community. Mr. Gillespie is a resident of Marlton, N.J.
